Down the Rabbit Hole

Creating a portfolio and a blog has been on my TODO list for a few years now. Summer 2020 finally convinced me that creating a blog was a “need to do” instead of a “nice to have”. Frankly, dealing with the fallout from the COVID-19 panic pandemic and having nothing better todo but sit inside was not my primary motivator.

Surprisingly, I am still very busy. I am privileged enough to work in an “essential” industry and keep my job during the downturn. Plus, I needed to help out important people in my life who fell ill and injured themselves in other ways. Never a dull moment.

The impetus of creation was that I simply am fed up with the algorithm driven echo chambers of today’s top social media platforms. As social distancing became the norm, I watched as people traded physical interactions for digital interactions. This terrified me as some of these people have replaced their ability to engage and empathize with fake digital outrage. I have fallen into this trap too and decided to create this blog to regain control of my digital content and my time.

I don’t yet have a concrete plan of what this blog will be, but I hope it will feature an interesting mix of technical tidbits, interesting photographs, and witty insights. (No promises! 😉 ) Thank you for joining me for the journey as I share my reflections.
